Overlay acoustic floor system for timber frame construction

The Isocheck PRIMO 30 TF system is designed to reduce sound transmission through traditional / composite timber / steel joisted floors within a timber frame construction.

The Isocheck PRIMO 30 TF system is specifically designed for overlay platform systems for timber frame construction projects.

Suitable for: New Build, Conversions, Refurbishments, New Build E1, and Change of Use E1.

Important Note: Please ask Isomass for guidance when considering the weight of any new blocks which will be incorporated in a wall directly surrounding a timber separating floor.

The acoustic floor shall be:

Isocheck PRIMO 30 system, supplied by Isomass Ltd. Unit 14 Papworth Business Park, Stirling Way, Papworth Everard, Cambridgeshire CB23 3GY and installed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions / recommendations.

Installation Instructions:

  • Apply Isocheck Acoustic Angled Flanking Band on the edges of the Isocheck boards before they are pushed against the perimeter walls to isolate the board from the wall.
  • Lay Isocheck PRIMO 30 system over the timber deck, in brick bond pattern, applying Isocheck adhesive to all tongued and grooved panel joints.
  • Install skirting and trim off excess Flanking Band.
  • Full installation instructions are available for use in conjunction when laying this floating floor system.

  • Isocheck PRIMO 30.
  • OSB sub floor.
  • Traditional timber, steel or composite wood joists.
  • 100mm insulation between joists.
  • 24kg/m² double boarded 25mm o/a plasterboard on resilient bars @ 400mm centres perpendicular to joist direction.
  • Min. 100mm void formed by metal frame suspended ceiling system plus ≥7kg/m² gypsum board ceiling.

Flanking Details:

External (flanking) wall junction:

  • Masonry outer leaf.
  • External wall cavity (min. 50mm).
  • Cavity closer with cavity stop.
  • Timber sheathing and permeable membrane (if required).
  • Quilt insulation min.10kg/m³.
  • Two layers of gypsum-based board nominal 8kg/m² each layer.
  • Joists may span in either direction.

Separating wall junction:

  • Cavity closer with cavity stop.
  • Two layers of gypsum-based board nominal 8kg/m² each layer.
  • Joists may span in either direction.
  • Acoustic flanking band required at all wall junctions.

The Isocheck PRIMO system is also available in a high load version - Isocheck PRIMO HL - for bathroom and kitchen applications. This system enables all bathroom and kitchen fittings to be placed directly on the PRIMO HL board and facilitates a good base for tiling finish.
